First ground-up accommodations to open on Captiva since Hurricane Ian
CAPTIVA, Fla. (Sept. 23, 2026) – Stevens Construction has completed Captiva Island Inn located at 11508 Andy Rosse Lane, announced Dan Adams, executive vice president/partner, Stevens Construction, Inc.

The project marks the first newly constructed accommodation to open on Captiva since Hurricane Ian devastated the island in 2022. Following extensive storm damage, the former Captiva Island Inn was demolished, making way for a more resilient property designed to withstand Florida’s coastal environment.

Stevens Construction built two elevated buildings totaling 8,454 square feet at 11508 and 11509 Andy Rosse Lane which are supported by 208 concrete pilings to protect against future storms. Completed in twelve months, each building features five guest units with a private entrance, great room, primary bedroom, kitchenette, bathroom and front porch.

The first five guest units, located at 11508 Andy Rosse Lane, are complete and available for reservations beginning Sept. 18. The remaining five units at 11509 Andy Rosse Lane are scheduled for completion by the end of 2026.

Stevens Construction worked with Sandy Stilwell Youngquist, Owner-CEO Stilwell Enterprises & Restaurant Group; MHK Architecture and Quattrone & Associates during a 21-month preconstruction process, identifying more than $2 million in cost-saving opportunities during design while preserving the original Captiva Island Inn charm.

The Stevens Construction team includes Nick Burkel, director of preconstruction; Evan Lopes, estimator; Hunter Stevens, project manager; Zach Brown, Superintendent and Morgan Thie, project administrator.
