This state-of-the-art facility will propel health sciences education, enriching the future of healthcare students and professionals
St. Augustine, Fla. (June 12, 2023) – Today, the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences, ESJ Capital Partners and Stevens Construction celebrated the beginning of construction of a new 122,000-square-foot campus for the University of St. Augustine Health Sciences’ St. Augustine, Florida campus, announced Michael Waskiewicz, vice president.
To capitalize on the university’s growth, this new leading-edge campus increases immersive learning opportunities for its students, allows for continued building of innovative programs and helps educate practitioners to meet the needs of the community and the healthcare profession at large.
The University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences, in partnership with ESJ Capital Partners, are renovating an existing two-story, 40,000-square-foot building, that previously housed the St. Augustine Record located at 1 News Place.
Additionally, Stevens Construction will be constructing a new 80,000-square-foot expansion onto the existing two-story building, which will include the Center for Innovative Clinical Practice, multiple simulation labs, a 14-bed hospital setting, two complex hospital rooms, six
assessment rooms to model doctor office scenarios, a daily living lab to simulate home treatment,
Slated for completion in fall of 2024, the new campus will also house learning studios, class labs, cadaver, and anatomy labs student lounges, amenities, study spaces, conference rooms, administration and multi-functioning working spaces.
The Stevens Construction team includes Michael Waskiewicz, project executive; Bruce Chartrand, senior project manager; Jim Ruby, senior superintendent; Landon Smith, superintendent, and Corrie Cochran and Michelle Fergus, project administrators. Gensler is the architect of record.
