FORT MYERS, Fla. (Oct. 17, 2011) Stevens Construction Inc. earned five awards at the sixth annual Lee Building Industry Association (BIA) Commercial Contractors Council Summit Awards event on Oct. 15, including the highest honor of Contractor of the Year.
It is truly an honor to receive this prestigious award. However, it belongs to each team member at Stevens Construction for their hard work and dedication to every project and our clients, said Mark Stevens, company president.
A panel of judges from Orlando named Stevens Construction Contractor of the Year based on client relations, achievement of goals, community responsibilities, certifications and training and specific practices. This is the second time that Stevens Construction has won Contractor of the Year by the Lee BIA, the company was also named Contractor of the Year in 2007.
In the healthcare category, Stevens Construction won the $0-$1.9M category for Collins Vision in Fort Myers.
The company earned a Summit for the $5M-$8M category in commercial projects for Bud and Donna Somers Hospice House and Resource Center, located in Sebring.
In the improvement and renovation category, Stevens Construction won the $2M-$4.9M division for the Eye Specialists Cornea and Laser Center renovation in Fort Myers.
The company also earned an award in the $0M-$1.9M division of Build-Out/Tenant In-Fill for Ophthalmic Facial and Plastic Surgery Specialists located in Fort Myers.
The Summit Awards program recognizes BIA members who have obtained an outstanding level of success and demonstrated superior professionalism in the commercial construction industry throughout the year. The projects were judged for quality of construction, challenges, timeliness of completion, client satisfaction and safety.
Stevens Construction has earned 22 Summit Awards since the program began in 2006.
